Louise (Luise) Rainer (aka The Vienna Teardrop) is the oldest surviving Oscar recipient at 102 years of age, and the first woman to win back-to-back best actress Oscars - for her part in the 1936 film The Great Zeigfeld and for the 1937 film The Good Earth.
Those two parts were diametrically opposed in virtually every way. The beautiful talkative vamp she was in Zeigfeld changed to the humble almost speechless plain Chinese farm wife in The Good Earth. She is still lucid and active, living in London. This link and the links within it provide a comprehensive description of her life.
