An Israeli discovery allowing stem cells to be cultivated in quantities ample enough to meet the world's needs means that stem cell therapy could soon be within the reach of millions. Mass-market manufacture of stem cells is closer than ever after a breakthrough by researchers from Hadassah University Medical Center in Jerusalem.

This will surely lead to yet another Nobel Prize in Medicine.

In their study, the scientists show how human-derived embryonic stem cells can be grown while floating in a solution. Until now, for cultures to grow, the stem cells had to be grown on a substrate, which is extremely labor intensive and limits the number of cells developed through cultivation

Through my secret inside sources I have uncovered what
the innovation is based on .
So what is this mysterious solution that solves this complex
technical problem ? It turns out to be nothing more than
chicken soup ! And the lead researcher got the idea after
watching his mother prepare some from an old family recipe .

BTW , anyone who believes what I just wrote , contact me .
I have some real estate to sell you .
;- P

Seriously though , this is an hugely important discovery and
the researchers deserve many accolades .

nSZ: Thanks for my laugh of the morning. I've got to be SO gullible. At first I believed what you were saying, until I got to the BTW. Of course the reason I took you seriously is because it is a well known fact that chicken soup is the wonder drug of all time, and we have not yet experienced its full potential. I wouldn't be surprised if it could be used as fuel to get us to distant planets.

It's too bad that the Nobel Prizes did not start until later, because the person who invented chicken soup deserved the award for Medicine.

I couldn't agree more . :- )

So , about that real estate ....

Interestingly, there has been some scientific research that has shown that there are nutrients in chicken soup that actually do stimulate the immune system!

I went into bankruptcy investing in real estate. Sorry, you're stuck with it. I just can't afford to buy any more bridges.

Buzz ,

I just can't afford to buy any more bridges.

Not even the Rainbow Bridge ?

Let me know if you can't open this link . I can probably find others .

I didn't quite go into bankruptcy, but I lost a heck of a lot of money in the Stock Market.

Perhaps we could get together and share ideas...

nSZ: That link will not open outside of the USA. But I noticed that it referred to a China Bridge. The Rainbow Bridge with which I'm very familiar is the one between the 2 Niagara Falls (NY + Ont). I was born and grew up only about an hour's drive from there.

Krishna: One must have money to invest in anything, and I don't have any. Obviously my advice in that regard is not to be followed. I do, however, still have a couple of bridges in my inventory - have had some trouble unloading them. My Trustee in Bankruptcy said it was okay for me to keep them. I really don't understand why nobody would be interested in owning the Golden Gate Bridge. Tony Bennett hung up on me when I was trying to interest him in it. As well, surely SOMEONE has to have a wish to buy the one over troubled waters that I purchased from Paul Simon.

Buzz ,

This is not the same type of bridge you are used to .
It is a uniquely Chinese design . During the Song dynasty
they developed a style of bridge construction that used straight
wood beams that were interwoven in a very clever way to produce
an arch type shape . All such bridges had long ago decayed so that
there were no more examples left to use as models .

This vid is the story of a reconstruction of that ancient design
from paintings on an ancient scroll . The team that did the construction
used talent from all over the world to put it together .
It seems to be called the Pu Qing bridge in China .

Apparently it is in a small town called Jinze outside of Shanghai .

If anyone's interested-- I can get you a really good deal on the Brooklyn Bridge.

LOL. What did the video say-- I think he said he worked on it for 35 years! Looking back, if it were me -- I would wonder if it was worth it. But apparently this guy felt it was worthwhile. He seemed to like the idea that it might "blow peoples' minds"

(Well, he a Californian...I sometimes can't figure them out).

(Maybe he could sell it to a ping pong ball manufacturer-- they could use it in ads and pay him big bucks...??? Or..in toothpick commercials...do they actually make toothpick commercials?)

I don't know if what Auteur finds interesting is the stem cell research or our insanity, so I can't answer that.

top destinations .
